Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Crumlin (Dublin) Multidenominational School.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

427 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for the establishment of a new multi-denominational school in Crumlin, Dublin 12; if so, if she has approved the application; the arrangements, if any, she has made to provide permanent premises for the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has received an application for the recognition of a new multi-denominational school in Crumlin.

To date, the promoters have not been able to satisfy some of the main conditions necessary for the granting of recognition, especially those relating to establishing the need for the school and the securing of suitable accommodation.

With regard to accommodation, it is a matter, in the first instance, for the school promoters to identify and secure the use of suitable accommodation to serve for school purposes.
