Vol. 434 No. 4

Written Answers. - Proposed Kenmare (Kerry) Mart.

John O'Leary

Question:

138 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the present position regarding the application of the Kenmare Mart Committee for a FEOGA grant for the proposed new livestock mart at Kenmare, County Kerry, which is urgently required; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application will be considered when funding is made available by the EC Commission under the post 1993 round of structural funding.

Colm M. Hilliard

Question:

139 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who applied for a total of 290 ewes in 1993 and who has submitted all the necessary details regarding transfer of lands, flock and herd numbers to his Department.

There was a complication over the allocation of a quota and payment of the advance of the 1993 ewe premium due to the fact that the person named had both a herd number and a flock number which also gave rise to an overpayment being made under the 1992 ewe premium. This matter has been resolved and payment of the 1993 advance less the 1992 overpayment will be made to the person named shortly.

John Ellis

Question:

140 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay a sheep headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Payments under the 1993 sheep headage scheme grants are scheduled to commence in November and the person named should receive his payment then.

Frank Crowley

Question:

141 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a decision will be made regarding an application for installation aid by a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

It is expected that a decision on this person's eligibility will be made very shortly after which the file will be submitted to the Department. Provided all conditions for payment are met, payments are normally made within six-eight weeks of receipt in the Department.
