Question:

149 Ms Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The person named was not paid the advance of the 1993 ewe premium as he has no quota. He has, however, applied for a quota from the national reserve. These applications are being examined at present and if he is successful his application for payment of premium under the 1993 scheme will then be processed.

Question:

153 Ms Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

: An advance of £2,171.85 due to the person named has been withheld for offsetting against a sum of £2,499.80 which he still owes to the Department in respect of grants paid to him under the 1982 to 1986 cattle and sheep headage schemes when he made false declarations on his application forms regarding his off-farm income. The remaining £327.95 which he owes to the Department will be deducted from his 1993 sheep headage grants and any balance will be paid to him.
