Vol. 434 No. 6

Written Answers. - Falcarragh (Donegal) Garda Station.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

52 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the dilapidated condition of Falcarragh Garda station, County Donegal; and the plans, if any she has to provide adequate facilities there.

The Garda station at Falcarragh is in a poor condition. It is proposed to renovate and upgrade the adjacent vacant Garda house in order to provide a new station. A proposed sketch scheme with estimated costings was submitted to the Garda authorities recently for their approval.

It is not possible to give a precise date for commencement of work on this project, but it is expected that tender documents will be drawn up in the next few weeks and it is hoped that a contract will be placed before the end of this year.
