Vol. 434 No. 9

Written Answers. - Provisions of New School.

Robert Molloy

Question:

205 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education if she will meet with a deputation from Corrandulla Parents Committee to discuss the delay in sanctioning a new national school for Corrandulla, County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I met a deputation from the Parents' Committee on 1 June last.

I have agreed to a further meeting between my programme manager and the deputation from Coorandulla Parents' Committee. Officials of my Department will be in contact with the parents committee shortly to arrange a suitable time.
Architectural planning for the new school has been completed and a bill of quantities is being prepared.
It was not possible to include this project among those to proceed to contract in 1993. It will be considered for inclusion in the capital programme in due course in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.

Pat Cox

Question:

206 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Education if she has made a decision regarding the request from a school (details supplied) in County Cork to meet officials of her Department to discuss the building of a permanent new school.

I have agreed to meet representatives of the school on 17 November. Officials of my Department will be in contact with the school representatives shortly to arrange a suitable time.
