Vol. 434 No. 9

Written Answers. - Working Group.

John Bruton

Question:

71 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment the date of appointment of the working group established by him to monitor the movement of large convoys of mobile traders and to anticipate any problems that may arise in this regard; the names of the representatives of each Department appointed to the group; and if a date has been set for receipt of a report from the working group.

The working group, which held its first meeting on 31 May 1993, is representative of the Departments of the Environment, Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Enterprise and Employment, Equality and Law Reform, Justice, and Social Welfare, as well as the Revenue Commissioners, Garda Síochána and local authorities. Appropriate representatives of these bodies may be nominated to attend meetings of the working group from time to time to deal with issues arising. I expect to receive a report from the group before the end of the year.
