Vol. 435 No. 2

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan — the need to provide extra facilities at Hewetson School, Sallins, County Kildare, and the delays to date in progressing the matter; (2) Deputy Seán Ryan — the threat of further redundancies at the Amdahl Plant, Swords, County Dublin and the implications of this for the area; (3) Deputy Gay Mitchell — the need to amend the 1993 Local Authority Housing Sales Scheme so that elderly persons who have been tenants for many years and other persons who would have qualified under previous schemes will qualify under the existing scheme; (4) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the alleged shortage of manufactured beef available to the Irish beefburger processing industry; (5) Deputy Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly) — the seizure by customs and excise officials in County Offaly of a motor car imported in good faith by a person (details supplied) who, because of a serious disability, depends on a car and (6) Deputy Kenneally — the development of the harbour at Dunmore East, County Waterford.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly); Seán Ryan; Gay Mitchell and Durkan.
