Question:69 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry his views on a January/December milk quota year, as a more manageable option for dairy farmers.

Under the Community legislation on the milk quota system, the quota year is defined as the 12 month period commencing on 1 April.
The disadvantages of a January/ December milk quota year would, in my view, outweigh the advantages.
