Private Members' Business. - Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Richard Bruton — the results of a survey which found that over 70 per cent of cooked foods contain bacteria levels in excess of acceptable limits; (2) Deputy Upton — the need to further develop the country's science and technology resources through research and development to improve the level of innovation in Irish industry; (3) An Teachta Ó Maoildhia — an brú mór tráchta ar Bhóthar Kingston, Gaillimh, agus an gá le hairgead a sholathar faoin scéim liúntas bóithre, naoi déag nócha a ceathair, le haghaidh mórbhothar dáileoira iartharach chun an brú sin a éadromú; (4) Deputy Carey — the growing concern in Clare and the mid-west region at the recent losses of employment in long established multinational companies; and the need for initiatives to arrest this haemorrhage; (5) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — the need to provide four extra classrooms at Ardfinnan national school County Tipperary.

The order of the Dáil of 4 November which governs this sitting provided that, for this day only, three matters should be selected with ten minutes available to the Member concerned and ten minutes available to the Minister or Minister of State replying. In accordance with that order, I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Carey, Ó Maoildhia and Richard Bruton.
