Private Members' Business. - Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Crawford — the excessive number of pupils travelling on certain buses between Kingscourt and Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; (2) Deputy Michael Kitt — the proposal by Ballinasloe Urban District Council to build apartments at Hymany Street, Ballinasloe, County Galway; (3) Deputy Upton — the need to further develop the country's science and technology resources through research and development to improve the level of innovation in Irish industry; (4) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — the need to provide four extra classrooms at Ardfinnan national school, County Tipperary; (5) Deputy Broughan — the need for funding for the Moatview Children's Centre, North Coolock, Dublin 17; (6) Deputy Ó Cuív — the need for funding for the Athenry extension scheme to ensure an adequate water supply for the town which has no water from 12 midnight to 7 a.m. at present; (7) Deputy Richard Bruton — flaws in the National Development Plan which have placed a question mark over EC Commission approval— (8) Deputy Shortall — the refurbishment of the Holy Spirit Schools in Ballymun, Dublin 11; (9) Deputy Connaughton — the need for clarification of requirements as regards the supply of maps in relation to the area aid schemes; (10) Deputy Finucane — when construction will recommence as Adare girls primary school, County Limerick as the delay in this regard is causing concern to parents, pupils and teachers; (11) Deputy Power — the negotiations between the Department of Health and psychologists in the health services regarding pay and the threat of industrial action; (12) Deputy Shatter — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 100 of 9 November 1993 regarding the eligibility and suitability criteria for either domestic or foreign adoptions; (13) Deputy Deenihan — the need for financial provision to enable essential renovation work to be carried out on Listowel Garda station, County Kerry; (14) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — the need for a review of the IDA's operations in the Cork area given the number of major industries lost to that area recently.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Connaughton, Power, Shatter and Theresa Ahearn.
