Vol. 435 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Bradford

Question:

8 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the sanction of a farm installation grant application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if the application will be approved; and when payment will issue.

There was some delay by the applicant in submitting, to Teagasc, details of the lands transferred to him and this held up the processing of the case.

This applicant has been deemed eligible for installation aid. However, having regard to the level of applications currently on hands, I expect that payment will be made within six to eight weeks.

Michael Creed

Question:

9 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he has received an application for a sheep quota from the national reserve from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for ewe premium reserve quota from the national reserve has been received from the person named. A decision on whether or not he is eligible for an allocation of quota from the reserve will be made as soon as all applications received for reserve quota have been processed by my Department. This is expected to take a further five to six weeks.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

10 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme. He has been deemed ineligible for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme as he did not present the identity cards of the animals on which he applied for premium for stamping and punching prior to the sale of the animals.

His June 1993 special beef premium application is being processed at present and if found in order a 60 per cent advance will be paid shortly.
