Question:

153 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice the number of juvenile liaison officers, neighbourhood watch liaison officers, and Garda motor bike patrols currently stationed in Dundrum Garda Station, Dublin 14.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 151, 152 and 153 together.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the number of gardaí assigned to Dundrum Garda Station on 1 November 1980, 1985, 1990 and 1993 was 47, 70, 54 and 57 respectively. In November 1980, two patrol cars and a motorcycle were based at Dundrum station. At present, three patrol cars, a motorcycle and a personnel carrier are located there.

Three Neighbourhood Watch gardaí are based at Dundrum station. One of two Juvenile Liaison Officers based at Blackrock station has responsibility for the Dundrum area. The number of motorcycle patrols is four making use of the one machine.
