Question:164 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Education the number of teachers who took early retirement in 1992-93 at primary level and secondary level, respectively.
Written Answers. - Teachers Availing of Early Retirement.
A total of 138 primary school teachers and 39 secondary, community and comprehensive school teachers retired voluntarily and were awarded pensions in the calendar year 1992. The figures for 1993, to the end of October, 1993 are 248 and 70 respectively. The provision of information relating to vocational teachers is a matter for the Department of the Environment.
