Vol. 435 No. 11

Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Reserve Quota.

Ivan Yates

Question:

77 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a suckler cow quota will be allocated under the national reserve to a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow; if so, when; and if, in view of this person's past difficulties with the dairying division of his Department, this request will be approved.

I will shortly be announcing the priority categories for the allocation of suckler cow reserve quota. The person named can then submit a formal application for reserve quota to my Department at Michael Davitt House, Castlebar. He will of course, be required to provide documentary evidence to support his claim for quota from the reserve. There is no provision in EC Regulations which enables my Department to give priority in the allocation of reserve quota to producers who have experienced difficulties in relation to their milk quota.
