Vol. 436 No. 1

Written Answers. - Third Level Grant.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

189 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the hardship involved, she will review an application for a higher education grant in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Laois; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Laois County Council, as the relevant local authority, is the body statutorily entrusted with the administration of the higher education grants scheme in this case. It is understood from the council that the person in question has been deemed ineligible for a higher education grant on the basis that family reckonable income exceeded the prescribed income limit.
