Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the member in each case: Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — The extent to which the Government decisions in relation to the interpretative centres at Luggala, Mullaghmore and the Boyne Valley will impact on future policy on the development of interpreative centres; Deputy Wallace — The high level of male suicides in Ireland; Deputy Kenneally — The difficulties experienced by handicapped pupils at St. Joseph's Special School in Waterford in moving between floors; and the need for urgent action in the matter; Deputy Brendan Smith — The need to make provision for a renal dialysis unit at Cavan General Hospital in the 1994 allocation to the North-Eastern Health Board; Deputy Deenihan — The need to provide finance to enable essential renovation work to be carried out on the Listowel Garda Station, County Kerry; Deputy Crawford — The form, cost and number of maps to be supplied for area aid purposes, in view of the widespread confusion in the matter; Deputy John Bruton — The Leaking to The Irish Press of confidential documents relating to Anglo-Irish negotiations; Deputy Jim O'Keeffe — The circumstances surrounding the £0.5 million worth of drugs hauled in by a fishing vessel off Kinsale, County Cork; and the measures necessary to prevent further landings of drugs along our coastline; Deputy Creed — The failure to proceed with the construction of a 50 metre swimming pool; Deputy Hogan — The need to review the decision to terminate various social welfare benefits upon taking up a position on a FÁS scheme, particularly in relation to the payment of the Christmas bonus; Deputy Michael Kitt — When funding will be provided for Clontuskert group water scheme, Ballinasloe, County Galway; Deputy Flood — The need for ministerial intervention in the dispute between FÁS and the Kinamanagh Family Recreation Centre Limited, which has led to the discontinuation of the FÁS scheme in the centre and the loss of 17 jobs; Deputy Theresa Ahearn — The delay in the provision of an extension at Scoil Ruáin Killenaule, County Tipperary; Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)— The financial hardship caused to parents and friends of people with mental handicap; and Deputy Cox — The current status of the proposal in the Finance Act, 1993, to bring forward VAT payments of approximately £145 million to December, 1993; The changes made to the threshold for liability for this tax levy since the Act was passed; and the implications of the recent judgment of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg in relation to VAT payments. I have selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: John Bruton; Jim O'Keeffe; Cox and Wallace.
