Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the extent to which the Government decisions in relation to the interpretative centres at Luggala, Mullaghmore and the Boyne Valley will impact on future policy on the development of interpretative centres; (2) Deputy Kenneally — the difficulties experienced by handicapped pupils at St. Joseph's Special School in Waterford in moving between floors; and the need for urgent action in the matter; (3) Deputy Brendan Smith — the need to make provision for a reneal dialysis unit at Cavan General Hospital in the 1994 allocation to the North-Eastern Health Board; (4) Deputy Deenihan — the need to provide finance to enable essential renovation works to be carried out on the Listowel Garda Station, County Kerry; (5) Deputy Crawford — the form, cost and number of maps to be supplied for area aid purposes, in view of the widespread confusion in the matter; (6) Deputy Creed — the failure to proceed with the construction of a 50 metre swimming pool; (7) Deputy Hogan — the need to review the decision to terminate various social welfare benefits upon taking up a position on a FÁS scheme, particularly in relation to the payment of the Christmas bonus; (8) Deputy Michael Kitt — when funding will be provided for Clontuskert group water scheme, Ballinasloe, County Galway; (9) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — the delay in the provision of an extension at Scoil Ruáin, Killenaule, County Tipperary; (10) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)— the financial hardship caused to parents and friends of people with mental handicap; (11) Deputy Carey — the closure of a temporary national school at Ogonnelloe, County Clare, due to rat infestation; (12) Deputy Jim O'Keeffe — the circumstances surrounding the £0.5 million worth of drugs hauled in by a fishing vessel off Kinsale, County Cork; the further finds since in the same area; and the urgent measures necessary to prevent further landings of drugs along our coastline; (13) Deputy Mary Wallace — the high level of male suicides in Ireland; (14) Deputy Eoin Ryan — whether it is intended to regulate bank charges under the forthcoming consumer credit legislation in the light of the recent increases in fees for bank customers; (15) Deputy Gilmore — the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 247 of 16 November 1993 in relation to the need for the appointment of a full-time caretaker at Our Lady of Good Counsel girls' school, Johnstown, Dún Laoghaire; (16) Deputy Durkan — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 56 of 4 November 1993, in relation to the importation of a motor vehicle and subsequent imposition of duty.

The matters raised by Deputies Jim O'Keeffe, Frances Fitzgerald, Mary Wallace and Donal Carey have been selected for discussion.
