Vol. 436 No. 4

Written Answers. - Local Authority Structures.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

135 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to provide sub-county structures in the City of Dublin and the three new counties in Dublin; and if so, if elections to these new sub-county bodies are envisaged during 1994.

The Local Government (Dublin) Bill, 1993, provides for the establishment of three new county councils and the rationalisation of local authority responsibilities for certain services in the city and county areas. Any question of sub-county-city structures would fall to be considered in the light of the operation of the new system.
