Written Answers. - Galway Study.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

137 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment the situation regarding the request from Galway County Council to his Department to establish a land use transportation study, encompassing all roads within a 10 mile radius of Galway city and the establishment of a route for the next river crossing of the Corrib river; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with the procedures for assessing proposals seeking support under the technical assistance provisions of the Operational Programme on Peripherality, Galway County Council's proposal for a land use and transportation study has been circulated for consideration to the Government Departments concerned, the EC Commission and the external evaluator for the programme. The council will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
