Vol. 436 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin Bay Ferry Facilities.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

183 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine the conclusions that were reached by the study commissioned by his Department and the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications into ferry facilities in Dublin Bay; and if he will publish the report of the study group.

The key recommendation of the Dublin Bay ferry terminal requirements study report was for the parallel development of both ferry terminals.

The group's report is being examined at present, particularly in the context of announcements made over the summer regarding the coming on stream of new high-speed ferry technology on the Holyhead-Dún Laoghaire route. A decision on publication of the report will be taken when the Department's examination of the matter has been completed.
