Vol. 436 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Question:

188 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of application for a sheep subsidy for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress to date; the likely outcome; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for ewe premium on 73 sheep on 10 March 1993.

There was a delay in allocating a quota to him and, accordingly, it was not possible to pay the first and second instalments of the 1993 premium when they were being paid to other flockowners. The problem has now been resolved and he has been granted a quota of 73 full premium rights. A payment should issue to him shortly.
The person named was not an applicant under the 1993 sheep headage scheme.

John Ellis

Question:

189 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the amount of payments outstanding to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo under the suckler cow scheme and beef premium scheme from 1990/91 to date.

The person named was not an applicant for grants under the 1990 suckler cow premium scheme. He was paid grants due under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme on 17 December 1991 and his payable order was cashed on 30 December 1991. He has also been paid his grants under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme. My Department is unable to trace any applications for grants from the person named under the 1990, 1991, 1992 or 1993 special beef premium schemes. His applications for grants under the 1993 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes are being processed at present and if found in order 60 per cent advances will be paid shortly.
