Vol. 436 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Question:

145 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of an application for grant aid for a slatted unit by a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress to date; and the likely outcome.

Application for grant aid was received in this case on 19 August 1993. Inspection of the work has been carried out by my Department and it is expected that the appropriate grant will be paid within the next ten days.

Question:

146 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of an application for a slaughter premium by a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress to date; the likely outcome; when the premium for the remaining four cattle will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied on 27 May 1993 for grants in respect of 11 animals under the 1993 EC deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme. He was paid slaughter premium scheme grants in respect of seven of those animals on 8 October 1993. The other four animals were not paid as they had not received special beef premium scheme grants already as required under the terms and conditions of the slaughter premium scheme.

An application has been received from the person named under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme and that application includes the four animals referred to. This application is being processed at present and if found in order special beef and related deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme grants will be paid shortly.
