Vol. 436 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Gerard C. Connolly

Question:

151 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made for beef and slaughter premia to be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium. His application for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order a 60 per cent advance will be paid shortly.

He was not an applicant for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the June 1993 application period.

Question:

152 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a farm building grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

Having regard to the level of claims currently on hands, I expect that payment will be made within four to six weeks.

Question:

153 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and premia payments for 1994 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to payments for 1993. The person named was paid his advances under the 1993 ewe premium scheme on 25 July 1993 and his sheep headage grant was paid to him on 29 November 1993. His applications for grants under the 1993 cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes are being processed at present and if found in order 60 per cent advances will be paid shortly.

Question:

154 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a farm development grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I expect that payment will be made within the next four weeks.

Question:

155 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and premia grants for 1993 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named was paid his sheep headage scheme grants on 29 November last. He was not paid the advance of the 1993 ewe premium as he has no quota. He has, however, applied for a quota from the national reserve. These applications are being processed at present and if he is successful his application for payment of 1993 ewe premium can then be processed.

The person named is not an applicant under any of the cattle headage and premia schemes.

Question:

156 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when sheep headage payments will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The application from the person named under the 1993 sheep headage scheme has been checked and found in order and he will be paid his grant shortly.
