Vol. 436 No. 7

Written Answers. - Larkhill (Dublin) School.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

208 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction the refurbishment of the heating system in the Holy Child Schools, Larkhill, Dublin 9, as a matter of urgency in view of the danger of the existing outdated system breaking down in very cold weather and pupils missing days in school as they have done on a number of occasions in recent years.

My Department has received a report from the private consultants acting on behalf of the authorities of the Holy Child Schools, Larkhill, Dublin, on the requirements of the heating installation which serves the three national schools situated on the premises. This report, which proposes a number of possible solutions to the problems being encountered with the system, is under consideration and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities at an early date.
