76 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the research that is currently being undertaken by Teagasc on the requirements of farming development on marginal land; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 47, 49, 54 and 76 together. Teagasc, which has the primary responsibility in this area, has a number of research projects in farming development on marginal land in progress at present, mainly in regard to shortening the post-partum interval in suckler cows; pasture improvement; machinery trafficability; pasture utilisation; pollution control and milk systems production.
