Question:61 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons behind the further delays in the construction of the Ballbriggan bypass; and when construction work will begin.
Written Answers. - Balbriggan (Dublin) Bypass.
I approved Dublin County Council's Motorway Scheme for the Balbriggan bypass on 20 April 1993 and I understand that contract documents which are being prepared by the council will be submitted shortly for my approval. Production of these documents by the council was related to the completion of a topography survey which was delayed by poor weather experienced during the summer. Work on the scheme is scheduled to commence in 1994 and to be completed in 1997.
