Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gay Mitchell — Allegations of fraud concerning sales of furniture involving at least 40 complaints in a number of areas including Dublin, Wicklow, Drogheda, Athlone, Sligo, Roscommon, Salthill and Ennis; (2) Deputy Kirk — The planned strike at Scoil Uí Mhuirí Dunleer, County Louth, today, 9 December, in support of the application to build a new extension to the school; (3) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — The serious shortage of classrooms at CBS High School, Clonmel, County Tipperary, which will prevent an intake of first year students in September 1994 unless an adequate grant is provided immediately; (4) Deputy Michael Kitt — When funding will be provided for Clontuskert group water Scheme, Ballinasloe, County Galway; (5) Deputy Crawford — The need for a more lenient attitude in the case of individual farmers in relation to compensation for losses due to tuberculosis in view of financial difficulties caused to many farmers such as a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; (6) Deputy Durkan — When unemployment benefit or assistance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has not received any payment since early autumn; (7) Deputy Allen — The need for an escort for mentally and physically handicapped children (details supplied) in County Cork while being transported to school by bus in view of allegations that serious incidents of a sexual nature have occured during such transportation.

The matters raised by Deputies Gay Mitchell, Kirk, Ahearn and Allen have been selected for discussion.
