Vol. 437 No. 1

Written Answers. - Seed Capital Relief Scheme.

Robert Molloy

Question:

79 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Finance the number of persons who have benefited to date under the scheme of relief for seed capital investment by new entrepreneurs as provided for in Section 25 of the Finance Act, 1993.

Refunds under the seed capital scheme have already been issued to four individuals in respect of investments in two separate companies. It is expected that a refund will issue to a fifth individual within the next ten days. A sixth application in relation to a company which has been certified by an industrial agency or Bord Fáilte was received by the Revenue Commissioners on 7 December and is currently being processed.

To date 12 companies have been certified by the industrial agencies-Bord Fáilte. To date over 20 applications have been received by the industrial agencies-Bord Fáilte.
