Eamon Gilmore

Question:

197 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the total amount of money from the proceeds of the national lottery which has been distributed by her Department; and the total amount of such moneys that has been allocated to community, sporting and voluntary bodies.

The following table gives details of expenditure by my Department on activities funded from the national lottery during the period 1987-92. This expenditure is distributed over the broad heading under which national lottery funds are allocated as follows:

Funds are allocated under these headings in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various approved schemes and services operated by my Department.
Details of projects and bodies grant aided by my Department from lottery funds are published annually in the Appropriation Accounts.
I will be glad to provide details of any projects in which the Deputy has a particular interest.
