Vol. 437 No. 4

Written Answers. - Legal Fees.

Peadar Clohessy

Question:

72 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Health the amount Beaumont Hospital has paid out in legal fees to date in the course of the controversy in its neurosurgical unit.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to the legal fees arising in relation to all of the events associated with Beaumont Hospital's neurosurgical unit, including the Ministerial Inquiry and the Medical Council Inquiry. The hospital has to date paid a total of £705,987 in respect of legal fees relating to these events.
