Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Additional Ewe Quota.

Ivan Yates

Question:

475 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was refused an additional ewe quota allocation under the national reserve; if this will be reconsidered in view of the small flock size; and whether there is an appeal process available to the person.

The person is not eligible for additional ewe premium quota from the national reserve because he does not qualify under any of the categories set out in the relevant EU regulation. He may appeal to the quota section of my Department at Michael Davitt House, Castlebar, County Mayo.

Question:

476 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was refused an additional ewe quota allocation under the national reserve; if this will be reconsidered in view of this person's need to build up flock numbers and in view of the nature of the small farm involved; and whether there is an appeal process available to this person.

The person named does not qualify for a ewe premium quota because she did not apply for the ewe premium scheme for the years 1990 to 1993, inclusive. She may appeal to the quota section of my Department at Michael Davitt House, Castlebar, County Mayo.
