Vol. 438 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cork Land Transfer.

Paul Bradford

Question:

79 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Justice when a land transfer dealing (details supplied) in County Cork will be completed.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing referred to is an application under section 49 of the Registration of Titles Act, 1964 for registration as the owner of certain lands by virtue of the operation of the Statute of Limitations, 1957.

Notices in the matter were issued by the Land Registry and an objection to the registration was received in the Land Registry on 20 December, 1993 in respect of part of the property which is the subject of an application. A letter in the matter was issued to the objectors on 17 January 1994.
By virtue of the nature of applications of this sort it is not possible to say when registration my be effected. Where there are objections, fairness obviously requires that the registrar takes the time necessary to deal with them.
