Question:

150 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment the total new starts-acquisitions in 1993 for each county council and corporation; the total financial allocation for housing for each local authority-corporation; the funding requested by each local authority-corporation; the number of house starts-acquisitions in respect of which the requests were made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Details of new starts-acquisitions in 1993, as supplied by county councils and county borough corporations, are set out in Part I of the following tabular statement. Details of the capital allocations notified to each housing authority for their 1993 housing construction programmes are given in Part II of the statement.

The information sought in the third and fourth parts of the question relates to completed housing schemes, schemes in progress and schemes which the housing authorities desired to commence. The compilation of this information would require an inordinate amount of staff time which would not be warranted. However, if the Deputy wishes to obtain the information in respect of any particular area I will arrange to supply it on request.
