Vol. 438 No. 4

Written Answers. - Worker Co-operatives.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

125 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the measures, if any, he will be taking in 1994 to support worker's co-operatives; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Worker co-operatives will continue to be eligible for support, during 1994, from the Co-operative Development Unit of FÁS. In addition, worker co-operatives, like any other economic undertakings, may be eligible for support under the ongoing programmes of the industrial development agencies. I am aware that the Co-operative Development Council has submitted its Development Plan 1994-1996 to my Department and this is under consideration at present.
