Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has considered the introduction of conservation area legislation along the lines of that available in the UK which goes beyond the practice in Irish legislation of listing individual buildings and provides for the planning of the conservation of whole areas which have historical and architectural significance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
