Vol. 438 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Bradford

Question:

94 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not yet been paid the 1992 special beef premium or the 1993 slaughter premium; the amount now due in respect of each of these premia; and when payment will issue.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the June 1992 and December 1992 special beef premium schemes. His application for grants under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order a 60 per cent advance amounting to £569.48 will issue shortly.

My Department is unable to trace any application from him in respect of grants under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the June 1993 application period.

Question:

95 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who applied for the 1993 slaughter premium for 89 cattle has only received payment on 63 cattle; and when the balance due will be paid.

The person named applied for premium on 89 animals under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme. He was paid premium on 63 of these animals but the remaining 26 animals were rejected because the special beef premium has not yet been paid on them, as required under the deseasonalisation scheme. The slaughter premium will be paid on these 26 animals when the special beef premium is paid on them.
