Vol. 438 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cork National School.

Micheál Martin

Question:

236 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education if she will make a favourable decision in relation to an application made by the Board of Management of Our Lady of Lourdes national school on behalf of parents to retain boys to the end of second class from 1 September 1994 instead of first class as in previous years, in view of the fact that this application has the agreement of all parties involved in education provision in the school's catchment area.

An application from Our Lady of Lourdes national school for permission to retain boys in second class is under examination in my Department at present. I expect that this examination will be completed and a decision conveyed to the school authorities in the very near future.
