Vol. 439 No. 5

Written Answers. - Connaught Rural Women's Group.

John Connor

Question:

19 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the proposed educational and training role of the Connaught Rural Women's Group at their resource centre in Strokestown, County Roscommon; and if she intends to support, financially or otherwise, the activities of this unique group and project.

My understanding is that the group in question has taken over a convent with the intention of turning it into a residential education centre.

My Department has not received any request for assistance from the group in question but any such application will be given full consideration.
