Vol. 439 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

125 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will be paid under the special beef premium scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for special beef premium on 27 animals in January-February 1993 and on 47 animals in June 1993. He has already been paid an advance of 60 per cent in accordance with EU regulations on foot of these two special beef premium applications. Payment of the balance cannot be made until all applications received from him in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density.
