Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Dukes — the urgent need for improvement and upgrading of the water supply in Monasterevan, County Kildare, to provide an adequate service for residents in the Kill Gurteenoona areas and to premit further development in the Drogheda Row area of the town; (2) Deputy Owen — the steps being taken by the Government with the Sierra Leone Government regarding the death of a person (details supplied) and the near death of another, both Irish Nationals; (3) Deputy Matt Brennan — the urgent need for finance to provide a new fire station at Enniscrone, County Sligo; (4) Deputy McManus — the need for the Ballywaltrim area of Bray to be designated a disadvantaged area under the Department of Education scheme; (5) Deputy Shatter — the Government's response to the recent Law Reform Commission report; (6) Deputy Gay Mitchell — the need for mortgage interest supplement to be paid to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 12, in view of the continuing hardship in these cases; (7) Deputy O'Leary — the need for the state to purchase the Waller Estate, including Castle and Fisheries, at Dromore, Kenmare P.O., County Kerry, to develop the property for tourism and other job creation purposes in the national interest as this property is again for sale; (8) Deputy McGrath — the decision to discontinue part of the school transport service to Gainstown national school, County Westmeath, and the hardship and inconvenience this will cause to children and parents in the area; (9) Deputy Bradford — the need to make representations to the United States authorities to correct the anomaly whereby certain Irish citizens (details supplied) who were born in England are ineligible for Morrison visas; (10) Deputy Flanagan — the need to clarify regulations on the holding of driving licences by deaf persons; (11) Deputy Shortall — the need for a definite closure date for Dunsink Tiphead, Finglas, Dublin 11; (12) Deputy Enda Kenny—the need to approve a request from Mayo County Council for expenditure to repair the streets in Belmullet, County Mayo, which are in a disastrous state of repair and which are consequently detrimental to business in the town, and the further need to grant expenditure for the replacement of all water mains in the town due to the poor water supply; (13) Deputy Quill — the need to grant eligibility for CEDP schemes to women who have not been signing on; (14) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — the exclusion of Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, from the new list of towns for urban renewal status having regard to the high unemployment level in the town, and the drain of financial investment from the town to neighbouring town which have been given urban renewal status; (15) Deputy Killeen — the proposed sale of Shannon repair services by Aer Lingus and the consequent threat to jobs; (16) Deputy Deenihan — the need to appoint a remedial teacher to Scartaglin national school, County Kerry.

The matters raised by Deputies Owen, Dukes, Enda Kenny and McManus have been selected for discussion.
