Question:45 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if he will give, in tabular form, the figures for the tax-take as a percentage of GNP for each of the twelve member states of Europe.

Data relating to 1992 for the 12 member states, as published by the Commission Services, are set out in the following table, which is derived from the autumn 1993 Economic Forecasts of the European Commission. This is the latest year for which outturn data are available.
