80 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if his Department has a compensation scheme or fund to cover people injured at work who are unable to work again in cases where employers do not have adequate insurance liability cover.

My Department does not have a scheme or fund of the sort referred to by the Deputy. The social welfare system does, however, include schemes which provide benefits for people injured at work. Questions regarding such schemes are proper to the Minister for Social Welfare.
