Vol. 440 No. 7

Written Answers. - St. Patrick's Day Celebrations.

Enda Kenny

Question:

87 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance the usage of the Government jet by him or the Ministers of State at his Department and official parties in respect of St. Patrick's Day assignments; the travel arrangements where the Government jet was not used; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In my capacity as Minister for Finance in this State, neither myself nor any of my official party used the Government jet in respect of St. Patrick's Day assignments. Scheduled flights were used on this occasion.

In relation to the Offices under my Department's aegis, the Minister of State at the Department of Finance and Tánaiste's Office did not take part in any celebrations outside the State. Details regarding the usage of the Government jet by the Minister of State with responsibility for Office of Public Works will be covered under the reply from the Department of Defence since this travel was in connection with his duties as Minister of State at Defence.
