Vol. 440 No. 7

Written Answers. - VAT on Hurleys.

Peter Barry

Question:

91 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to reduce the VAT rate imposed on sales of hurleys in view of the cost of hurleys and their replacement rate; if he will consider this course of action if only to make good promises made in the past; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the EU VAT Rates Directive, I am precluded from applying any rate other than the standard rate to all sports equipment.
