43 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if his attention has been drawn to public concern at reports that details of ex-directory telephone numbers can be purchased through private detective agencies; the discussions, if any, he has had or plans to have with Telecom Éireann to ensure that ex-directory numbers remain confidential; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the reports referred to in this question. This is a matter for Telecom Éireann in the first instance. They have informed me that they are having the allegations investigated and that they have reviewed their internal procedures as a result of these allegations.
