Vol. 440 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Question:

67 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive payment of his cattle headage grant.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in the near future. His application for the 1993 suckler cow scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in due course.

Liz McManus

Question:

68 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when full special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow.

The person named has already been paid a 60 per cent advance under the June 1993 special beef premium scheme. His application for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and a 60 per cent advance as provided in EU regulations will be paid shortly. Payment of the balances of special beef premium cannot be made until all applications received from him in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density.
