Vol. 441 No. 1

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Seán Haughey

Question:

57 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Finance the offices under the control of his Department which have been relocated from Dublin under the decentralisation programme since the year 1987; the locations of the new offices; the number of jobs transferred; and the further proposals, if any, he has in this regard.

With regard to the Government offices under the aegis of my Department, only sections of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners have been decentralised since 1987. The total number of staff involved is 755.

Under the current phase of the decentralisation programme, a further 297 staff of the Revenue Commissioners will be decentralised to Limerick and 55 staff of the Office of Public Works will be decentralised to Kilkenny.

All of the locations concerned and the total number of staff involved are set out in the following table.

I have no further proposals to decentralise staff following completion of the current phase of the decentralisation programme.
