Vol. 441 No. 1

Written Answers. - Curlew Mountains By-Pass.

Edward Nealon

Question:

104 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment when he will announce the findings of the public inquiry into the Curlew mountains by-pass on the N4 road, Roscommon-Sligo; when work will begin on the by-pass; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The issues raised at this inquiry are being examined and I will give my decisions as soon as possible. Should I decide to confirm the CPOs and the application for certification of the project on environmental grounds, subsequent decisions as to the funding of scheme, the commencement of work, etc. would be matters for the National Roads Authority.
