Vol. 441 No. 2

Written Answers. - Government Contracts.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

95 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence the number and names of public relations firms which have obtained Government contracts in the past 15 months; the value of such contracts; the terms of reference; the reason for such contracts; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

One such contract was placed during the period in question. The firm of Brindley Advertising Ltd., Dublin, was engaged by the Department of Defence with effect from 10 September, 1993 for the purpose of developing public awareness of the "Towards 2000" initiative in Civil Defence. Since September, 1993 payments totalling £11,410 plus VAT have been made on foot of the contract.
