39 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, he has taken arising from the report of the Stock Exchange investigation in the Davy/ Greencore affair; if he has received a response from Davy Stockbrokers to his request for additional information on the Stock Exchange investigation; when he intends to introduce the promised legislation regarding control of the Stock Exchange; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In relation to the Stock Exchange's investigation into the sale of shares in Greencore, I would refer the Deputy to my earlier reply to Deputy Ivan Yates' question on this topic.

The draft legislation covering the Irish Stock Exchange and its members is at an advanced stage of preparation. It has been delayed by legal and constitutional problems. These are being dealt with and I hope to be in a position to introduce the Bill shortly.
